Description
T1 - Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) to be reduced to a standing stem with part of a primary branch to remain too. The tree will be reduced to a 4m stem with the first primary branch reduced but leaving the woodpecker hole for habitat. The tree has a split from the base to around 3.5m and has a decay column from the base when sounded with a hammer. 6 fresh Dryads saddle (Cerioporus squamosus) brackets were found on the floor near the base of the tree. The tree also has some bleeding canker and has had previous limb failures and peeling bark. The tree will be kept as a habitat pole with primary limb to retain the woodpecker hole.
