Application Details
Description
Continuation of previously granted woodland management operations: Manage trees adjacent to rides and clearings to allow tractor and pedestrian access as required (crown lifting and occasional felling of individual trees); Thin and formative prune young broadleaf plantings to promote good tree form; Thin dense stands of holly to benefit broadleaf regeneration and allow light to penetrate to woodland floor, hence benefitting ground flora; Remove rhododendron and sycamore regeneration throughout woodland (esp SE corner); Remove diseased trees at periphery of woodland (especially adjacent to Wroxham Road) as required to maintain public safety; Prioritise deadwood habitats in all operations e.g. leave standing stems, mimic natural windblow by winching trees in preference to felling (where possible), establish linear woody debris stacks where canopies must be flattened. Additional works: Coppice strip of trees (up to 25m wide) in close proximity to car port, residential dwelling and workshop. Species include hazel, willow, field maple, sweet chestnut, holly, oak, rowan, bird cherry birch and crab apple. All ash are showing signs of advanced ash dieback and falling debris would likely impact the car port roof. The area has previously been coppiced (circa 1993) and would benefit from being brought back into rotation; and remove regenerating small trees in close proximity to Wroxham Road (A1151) whilst maintaining the existing canopy cover behind the fenceline
