Description

T1 Birch - Fell. The tree has resulted in substantial cumulative costs over a number of years, including specialist flat-roof drainage works, repeated gutter and roof clearance, moss remediation. These costs are recurrent rather than one-off and continue to rise annually.These costs have amounted to over ?20kBirch trees are high-debris species,Seed debris and organic matter repeatedly block gutters, hoppers, and outlets, contributing to moss growth, water retention, and the need for specialist gullies. This materially increases the risk of water ingress and premature roof degradation.Ongoing management requires frequent manual intervention, including ladder access to the roof for clearing debris. This presents avoidable safety risks and is not a sustainable long-term maintenance arrangement.Damage to hard landscaping and ground movement, The tree has caused lifting and displacement of the patio, indicating root-related impact on surrounding hard surfaces and potential future issues with adjacent structures.The bifurcated form of the tree, combined with its proximity to the house, raises concerns regarding stability during high winds. Despite regular pruning and installation of cable bracing, and upgraded drainage infrastructure, the negative impacts persist. These mitigation measures have not resolved the underlying issues and continue to require ongoing expenditure.My customer feels the risk of failure, constant maintenance and proximity to the house is disproportionate compared to amenity value of this rear garden tree. We would like to replant with another specimen species in a more suitable position. G1 Poplar saplings - fell - small group of 5 self seeded Poplar saplings. Theses trees have sprung up in recent years and are over crowded in a front bed. They bring no amenity value.
