Description

Cut back third order branch at 3.5m to the south-west to 1m from origin, i.e. to outside (low) epicormic growth. Selectively thin by approx. 25% two second order scaffold branches to the south-west originating at approximate height of 2.5-3m, particularly focusing on upright apical growth. Formative prune/tip reduce to appropriate growth points the remainder of branches belonging to scaffold branches (to the south-west originating at approx. height of 2.5-3m) by up to 1.5m, to shape those retained branches, to avoid extended branches, "lions tailing". Special care should be taken during tree work operations to avoid damage to internal growth including epicormic shoots, which may be vital to the tree's health, future crown. Remove deadwood.Install non-invasive bracing to co-dominant branch to south-west.
