Description

T1 Oak, prune back lower crown spread to S.W. W+ N.W. over house by 2m to reduce drip line of tree over roof. To increase light levels to this part of the property, reduce build-up of detritus on roof from tree and prevent associated problems with damp. Current crown spread on this side of the tree to South, 11m and to West 8.5m. T2 Whitebeam, tree is sited on Eastern boundary with properties on Selbourne Rd. Tree bi-furcates at approx. 1.5m on main stem and is in poor condition. Decay present at union in main stem, lower branches have been removed and surrounding trees have shaded-out lower crown resulting in a top heavy leggy form. Permanent targets underneath the tree in neighbouring property. I propose to pollard this tree at approx 4m to maintain its use as screening whilst removing the risk of collapse it presents. Tree is insignificant within the context of the conservation area.
