Description

T1 Chestnut, Crown raise tree to 6m, (current height 20m), prune back tips of lower laterals to help tree cope with weight loading, current crown spread from 9-11m, limbs to be pruned back by 2.5-3.5m, these are marked individually on the sketch plan to allow easier identification. Also two lateral limbs at N.W. and N.E. remove upright sections at tip to reduce amount of radial twisting to limbs under heavy wind loading therefore reducing chances of breakage. Crown lift is to increase light to a busy popular garden and tip reduction to reduce risk of failure of lower limbs. Evidence of past failures can be seen in torn stubs within the crown.
