To carry out work to the following trees within the section of G1 that is to the rear of no. 7 Sedlescombe Park: Mature Oak tree - dead wood, congested crown (see photograph P1) - remove major dead wood and crown thin by approximately 15% Mature Oak tree - minor dead wood, congested crown (see photograph P2) - crown thin by approximately 20% Mature Sycamore and mature Oak growing in association with each other - dead wood present, Oak with congested crown, low crown also affecting drop down lighting columns (see photographs P3 to P5) - Crown thin Oak by approx 20%, remove major dead wood, prune from drop down lighting columns to allow approx 2m clearance Group of self-set Sycamore affecting drop down lighting column, many stems over 75mm at 1.5m (see photographs P6 to P8) - Remove species to allow approx 1m clearance from lighting column, remove any species that would prevent lighting column being dropped The removal of dead wood is for Health & Safety purposes. The crown thinning and pruning from lighting columns is proposed following an email being sent from Warwickshire County Council to Galliford Try. The Council have had many complaints about the route being very dark. They also requested that pruning is carried out so that trees aren't obstructing future maintenance of drop down lights on the bridleway.
