Description

I am requesting permission to re-pollard a Silver Birch (T1) and an Ash (T2) to their previous crown reduction points and to prune a conifer tree (T3). Please refer to the attached Site Location Plan - reference LK1. T1 is located in the rear garden of the property and I'm told by the applicant that it hasn't been worked on for many years. The crown reduction of T1 will be, at it's longest points, approximately 5 metres. Some of the branches of T1 are overhanging the neighbouring property's boundary and this is one of the reasons why the applicant is very keen to get the tree to a more manageable size. Please refer to attached photograph - reference number LK2. T2 is located in the front garden of the property. The crown reduction of T2 will be approximately 3 metres, depending on each epicormic growth / previous reduction point. This tree is situated near to the public footpath and neighbouring property's boundary, so it is predominantly for safety reasons that the applicant wishes for works to be carried out on this tree. Please refer to attached photograph - reference number LK3. T3 is also located in the front garden of the property, near to the public footpath and neighbouring property's boundary. This tree is starting to get increasingly close to overhead telecommunication cables and the applicant does not want the tree to make contact with the cables. Reducing the height of T3 by approximately 2 - 2.5 metres and giving it a more balanced appearance will prevent it from becoming a potential nuisance to statutory undertakers. The pruning of all three trees will facilitate their continued good health and well-being, increase their amenity value and safeguard the community. The works will be carried out in line with British Standard Recommendations. I respectfully submit this application for your consideration. Thank you.
