Description

The tree is a Betula Utilis Jacquemontii Birch - Single Stem. The tree is about 14/15m in height with a spread of about 13m - the diameter of the trunk at waist height is 33cm. The tree is about 8m from the corner of Brooklands and about 7m from the corner of East Pendle, and is 1.7m from the fence boundary between the two properties (please see enclosed Tree Location Plan and Aerial Photo of Tree). The tree roots are causing damage to the exterior paths and patios at East Pendle, raising slabs and paviours. At Brooklands, the roots are raising and damaging the tarmac drive. In addition, the loss adjustor reviewing severe subsidence at Brooklands has expressed concern that the tree roots may contribute towards the subsidence. We wish to fell the tree and grind the stump to ensure no ongoing root growth.
