Description

Removal (felling) of Copper Beech in front garden of Whitworth House (within Whitworth Square Conservation Area) that according to a report commisioned by Rossendale Borough Council in 1999, would have outgrown its position by 2014/15. Two ornamental trees (Acacia) have already been planted in 2004 to facilitate the removal of the overgrown Copper Beech, these trees have not yet reached maturity due to the lack of light from the beech tree. Concern over possibility of damage caused by the tree, to Whitworth House which is a Grade II Listed Building.
