Description
The tree in question is a large Oak tree, officially under a TPO by our neighbours number 8. Most of the tree trunk is on their side of the fence, however most of the underlying branches and posture of the tree protrudes in to the rear of our garden. The proposed work involves lifting the crown of the tree, including the lower large branches on our side of the garden. This equates to approx 15-20 metres from the ground, towards the rear of our garden. The reason for suggesting this work, is that we have two very young children in the property, a baby 15 months old, and a child 4 years of age. Due to the amount of leaves/sap, general waste this tree fells twice a year, it's becoming very unsafe for our children to approach and use the rear of our garden. In high winds, many large branches fall from these lower based branches, causing a risk to safety. We have acknowledged recent cases of large trees falling in parks surrounding the area, leading to injuries/death. Chalkwell park being the most high profile case. Therefore, we really need to make the area and tree safeWe are also about to undertake a rather large garden renovation towards the rear of the garden, which will become an issue once complete if these lower branches remain on the tree. Removing one or two large branches (and the connecting branches) from the right side of the tree, on our side of the garden, will massively reduce the risk of property damage once this renovation is complete (Garden Office/Landscaping all projected from November 2025)Attached is a sketch outlining the main road (Mount Avenue) where the tree is in relation to our/neighbours property, and the projected renovation area towards the rear of our garden. I've also attached projected crowning areas of the tree, as well as photos of the tree/mess it creates twice a year. We would appreciate it if the council can take on this work, as it is becoming increasingly unsafe for our young children to be anywhere near the rear of the prop
