I moved to the Hockley area in December and have finally had a tree surgeon around today as there is a tree behind my next door neighbours property in the Maryland nature reserve that is very dangerous and needs cutting back as it is over 100ft tall.The tree surgeon said he is not allowed to touch it as it is council control so would incur a huge fine, but said it was not only diseased but it?s also a dangerous job so would maybe need a cherry picker from the football club side, He also said it is only a matter of time before the top part gets blown down and likely to come down on top of the neighbours outbuildings. Hopefully the below will give you an idea of how precarious it is at present, especially as the soil is saturated and the winds very high.The Parrish council have said it is land with no registry and the council have said it is not under their jurisdiction but still needs permission and said they weren?t sure the particular tree had a TPO even though all around it does.
