I have two sycamores which are very close to my house which are causing me considerable distress and I am seeking permission to have the one closest to the house felled for the following reasons.1) My gutters are clogged with 4inch high seedlings and I have been quoted ?400 to clear them. 2) My patio has become a health hazard as it and my garden table and chairs are covered in bird poo on a daily basis from the wood pigeons that roost in the trees.3) At the moment as well as the bird poo my patio is covered with sticky flowers and I?m unable to go outside and enjoy my garden.4) After the flowers there is a sticky residue that drops onto the windows and frames and my window cleaner has difficulty in washing it off.5) In autumn for about 3 months I have to clear leaves up and the volume is so great it won?t fit into my garden waste bin.6) I am 76 years old, live on my own and have lived in this house since it was built in 1993. In that time the trees have got bigger and bigger and the last time I had works done to them on branches overhanging my and my neighbour?s roofs it cost me ?1000. I live on my pension and this was a considerable sum to find.7) All this is affecting my mental as well as physical health as I have COPD, liver disease and two replacement knees. I would like to be able to enjoy my garden without all the stress the trees are causing me.8) I would like to downsize but the trees would make it difficult for me to sell as the trees are so big and close to the house.I have an ornamental oak, a cherry tree, two apple and 1 crab apple tree in the garden so I enjoy trees but these belong in a park not in a domestic garden.
