Application Details
Description
Full specification of works, reasons are set out in the accompanying document titled ‘Schedule and Illustrative Details of Proposed Tree Works – Section 211 Notification’. Additional infomation T7 – Ash (self-set) This ash has established in soil that was previously trapped between the wall of the former ‘folly garden’ (now removed) and the boundary wall. It is therefore growing immediately adjacent to the boundary structure and at a higher retained soil level than the surrounding ground. The attached photograph shows its position behind the tree protection fencing. T9 – London Plane Selective lateral crown reduction of approximately 2–3m to branches extending toward the house wall and over the footprint of the proposed extension in order to provide appropriate clearance from the building. T10 – Norway Maple Selective lateral reduction of branches encroaching into the crown of T9 (London Plane) to reduce crown competition. T11 – False Acacia (Robinia) Crown lift by removal of a lower limb currently encroaching into the canopy of T10 (Norway Maple). T13 – False Acacia (Robinia) Removal of one dead limb to mitigate the risk of falling deadwood. The only additional trees not covered by PA25/4128 are the following: G2 – Common Lime group These trees along the boundary with Kitson Hall appear to have been historically pollarded, and are now significantly above the previous pollard points. It is proposed to reduce the crowns back to the previous pollard height (approximately 4m below the current height) to reinstate the historic pollard management and maintain the trees at a scale appropriate to their setting and adjacent buildings. T12 – Magnolia grandiflora (Evergreen Magnolia) This tree has outgrown its immediate position and now obscures the front door and windows of the house. It is proposed to undertake a light crown reduction of approximately 1.5m, together with a selective crown lift to provide clearance to the doorway, and minor crown thinning where appropriate to allow additional light to the windows while retaining the natural form and character of the tree.
