Description

T1 Sycamore: Fell Justification for Removal: The Acer pseudoplatanus (Sycamore) is a self-seeded specimen that has established in close proximity to neighbouring buildings and garden boundaries. Its current position is unsuitable for long-term retention due to restricted rooting space and proximity to built structures. Although not yet mature, sycamores are fast-growing, large-canopied trees which, if allowed to develop fully, will inevitably cause conflict with adjacent properties through excessive shading, overhang, and debris fall. The tree already casts significant shade over the adjoining rear gardens, adversely affecting light levels and the amenity of neighbouring occupiers. Given its position and species characteristics, it will rapidly become a source of nuisance as it matures, with increasing potential for root encroachment, branch interference, and seasonal littering. Due to its limited visibility from the public realm, the tree contributes minimally to public amenity value. On arboricultural and practical grounds, removal and, if required, replacement with a smaller, more suitable species in a sustainable location is considered appropriate management.
