Description

T1 - Front - Horse Chestnut - Total internal cavity, no heartwood remaining. Open cavity at 75cm from ground level, vertical extent of open cavity around 40cm giving high risk to ring tension strength of cambial layer. Although the vigour of the tree is high, there is only a 10cm wall of cambium supporting a trunk 1m wide with Ganoderma spp. attacking the sound cambial wall in one place adjacent to the open cavity. The tree is not strong enough to remain, as it would have been if the cavity was no open.
