Application Details
Description
Horse Chestnut T019 and T020 - Fell. The removal of T020 is proposed due to the presence of extensive decay throughout its lower stem caused by Perenniporia fraxinae. It is considered the tree's structural integrity is notably compromised as a result of the current decay and as this continues to progress through the stem the risk of stem failure occurring will increase. T019 is a companion to T020 and its heavily asymmetric crown will be exposed to wind forces for which it is not adapted following the removal of T020. Whilst it may be feasible to manage the risk of branch failure by undertaking a crown reduction, it is considered the reduction required would have a significant impact on its aesthetic value, which would be further exacerbated by its heavily asymmetric crown.
