Application Details
Description

The tree is identified on the Tree Location Plan and is a self-set ash Fraxinus excelsior. The tree is damaging the structure of the moorings, causing a trip hazard for access to the moorings from the ramp, and destabilising the surrounding structures. It is proposed to fell the tree and grind out the roots. The displaced stone flags will be lifted and reinstated to facilitate this work. It is not proposed to replant another tree in order to maintain safe level access to the moorings. Work to the tree has been defined in consultation with Historic Royal Palace's Park & Estate Manager, Nicholas Garbutt BSc (Hons); TechCert (ArborA); MArborA, and on the advice of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and Hockley & Dawson consulting engineers.
