Description

To replace the existing tarmac surface of the front yard of Weir Cottage with Marshall Brindle Keyblok paving. All existing flower beds, lawn area and tress will be retained as is. Care will be taken to ensure no damage is done to the existing trees during the paving work. Indeed, no damage has been done to the existing trees since work started in May 2022 and the work has been on hold since November 2022, awaiting retrospective planning permission from Richmond Council. The front yard slopes down from the front gate of the yard to the house, which has 1.5 meters deep flower beds running along the front of the house. To ensue proper drainage of the surface water after the paving is completed, a 10 cm wide drainage channel, running across the entire width of the front yard and about 0.5 meters in front of the flower beds has been installed. The drainage channel will capture the surface water run-off and direct it into the two existing manholes in the front yard. Any residual run-off not captured by the drainage channel will flow into the existing flower beds.
