Application Details
Description
T1 & T2 - Leylandii (Cupressus ? leylandi). T3 - Himalayan Birch (Betula utilis jacquemontii). T4- Golden leylandi hedgerow. (Cupressus ? leylandi 'castlewellan'). T1 & T2 - Remove both trees to ground level. Reason for the works: - To allow a mature Himalayan birch (T3) that sits in front the chance to flourish, - There are 3 mature, excellent specimen Lawson cypresses (TPO'd) along the same boundary. Removing the leylandii will highlight the size and beauty of these trees (See photo 1 to highlight how the leylandii distract from the TPO'd trees). Following the removal of two other leylandii's also planted between two TPO'd Lawson Cypresses further along the boundary, we were amazed by the improvements it made to the TPO'd trees , and so now wish to do the same here (see photo photo 3 to see the after). - To reduce the space competition the Leylandii's are placing on the Lawson Cypress.T3 - Crown reduce by 1-1.5m, following BS3998. Reason for the works: - to balance the crown that has over-extended on one side due to the presence of the Leylandii. - to reduce before larger pruning wounds are needed in the future to keep at a reasonable size. T4 - Reduce height by 2m to create a flat aesthetic top. Reason for works:- to bring hedgerow back under control.
