Description

Renewal and raising of roof, to incorporate insulation and replacement of the 7no. existing rooflights for 6no. roughened glass rooflights and 1no. hinged roof light with roof access ladder. Removal of existing southern mezzanine external timber gantry and ladder access onto the existing flat roof and replacement of the 1no. roof access door with 1no. window. Removal, repair and re-fitting of the existing small timber bell housing resting on the flat roof and restoration of the bell. Replacement of the flag pole. Removal of 1no. air conditioning unit to the north elevation of the mezzanine and repairs to the pebbledash render along with replacement of flat felt roofs either side of the central east facing clock face parapet. Overhaul of the inner blue slate and lead valley roof over the library. Renewal of lightning protection tapes and fall arrest cable anchor points on the renewed flat roof. Installation of 4no. lantern lights to west colonnade outside the main entrance doors into the Chapel and Dining Hall. Removal of existing door lock card reader and installation of pedestal card reader by the entrance door and removal of existing cables. Repairs to the south elevation 20th century finishing kitchen cement rendered walls and repairs the slate roof over the entrance. (Amended plans)
