Listed building consent to repoint the joints on the stone steps leading up to the cross with lime mortar to prevent water ingress and to stop any plants from establishing in the joints, add kiln dried sand to the block paved base to keep weeds at bay, cleaning of the cross to remove algae growth using a specialist super-heated steam cleaning machine by TENSID called the Torik system and a biocide may also be applied to kill off any remaining algae
