Description

Ash tree identified as T1 in the attached Sketch. The tree has been inspected and was found to have a significant cavity located 50cm above ground level on the Southern side of the stem. The cavity was measured to be approximately 50cm in length and 10cm in width at the opening widening internally. The depth of which was measured to be approximately 50cm. This is approximately 64% of the trees total DBH (Measured at 1.5m) of approximately 78cm. Pictures Ash1 and Ash2 attached for reference of cavity depth.The client is concerned about structural failure of the tree as seen in other specimens with similar defects in the local area. With the lean of the tree biased towards the neighbours fence and summerhouse (Reference picture Ash1) they are also concerned of their liability should a failure occur.For the above reasons the client wishes to remove the tree and re-plant with a suitable species as recommended by the tree officer.
