Description

Oak (T0037) Reduce back all dead and declining branches on north-west side of crown by c. 4m in length, back to healthy nodes or good epicormic growth. Reduce the height and spread of the rest of the upper crown by c. 2m back to good nodes. See attached survey schedule for more information and reasons. Oak (T39) - Reduce height of the crown by 3.5 to 4 metres back to suitable nodes. Following height reduction, selectively reduce the lateral spread of the upper lateral branch structure by up to 4m to provides a rounded and balanced crown. To further encourage development of epicormic growth in the lower crown, high coppice all Hazel, Hawthorn and Field Maple growing within 5 metres from the base of the tree to 2 metres above ground level. (Haloing). Reason: to significantly reduce sail area/wind load and to promote continued development of epicormic growth lower in the crown.
