Application Details
Description
Scots Pine - Fell. Large tall tree with extensive lean over the road and towards the caravan. The tree has heaved with confirmed signs of movement. The grounds are poor heathland soil and with the current high rainfall has made the grounds extremely sodden. Trajectory over the road through the caravan towards the main exit road. Heavily weighted. The neighbouring trees succumbed to Phaeolus schweinitzii and have been removed making this tree susceptible to the elements, most likely causing the heave/movement. High use area, it is a prominent position in the park by the complex and exit road - the park is open and currently easter holidays with a large number of guests including a vast number of children that go through the area along with the park's staff. A storm is forecast for this weekend in a direction that would advance failure of this tree. Additionally the park has had two very recent failures of trees, that were of sound timber and failed unexpectedly due to the wind and extensive rainfall.
