Application Details
Description
T1 - Beech For the following description of works, it is assumed that the dwelling is North of the Highway and compass points used as based on this assumption rather than actual readings. (a) Removal of deadwood and both components of all abrading limbs encountered. (b) The reduction of the limb to the West at 10m, with squirrel damage, by 3m to an appropriately sized growth point. (c) Pruning to clear the overhead cables by 0.5m all around. (d) Crown lift to a height of 5.2m above the highway and level through to leave an even silhouette by the reduction of secondary branches and removal of tertiary branches. Remove one pendulous limb shown by the red arrow in image three of Appendix A which is close to the dwelling. (e) Extensive pruning to clear the footprint of the building. The extent of pruning is shown by the red lines in images 2 & 3 of Appendix A. Pruning is to be to appropriately sized growth points clear of the building footprint. It equates to a reduction of approximately 7m. (f) To reduce limbs on the East and West side of the canopy by 2-3m back to appropriately sized growth points to leave an even and flowing branch line, that grades in the remains of the canopy to the extensive pruning on the North side, so that less of an asymmetrical bias is observed by the passer by. This will also reduce the risk of “wind snap” to branches that have become exposed following the extensive pruning described in item (e) above. At this juncture no works are proposed to the 180 degrees of the canopy that face the highway directly and no works are proposed to the top of the tree.
