Application Details
Description
T1 - Beech - Reduce front side stem by 6m in height as shown in annotated photograph. Reason: The tree has been colonised by Ganoderma applanatum/adspersum (illustrated in pics 4, 5, 6 and 7). We removed a stem section some 4 or 5 years ago, as there was a bracket in the fork (see pic 6) the removed section is visible in pics 2 and 3. The decay is more significant now as are the presence of more fruiting bodies and exudate from the fork, the remaining stem goes up to make up the complete front (house) side of the canopy, upon sounding with a hammer it is evident that the stem is hollowing, the presence of woodpecker holes also suggests this.
