Mature oak identified in red on attached diagram.The tree was viewed by Rebecca Allen from NULBC Landscape Department on 18th March following emergency tree surgery on the 17th March to make safe.Restraining straps have been positioned on the tree to prevent further damage to the tree until height reduction is completed.Up to 40% height reduction (as agreed with Rebecca Allen) to reduce branch weight and lateral stress to prevent split from developing further. This will allow split to all but close up minimising risk of disease infection.Additional measures to fully close the split entail inserting two 20mm S4 grade stainless steel threaded rods through the trunk of the tree where split has occurred and securing both ends of the rods with lock nuts over 20mm washers and 50mm square plates.. This will allow the split to fully close and minimise further potential for disease infection.These proposals have been provided by Jack Eggerton of JE Tree Surgeons,
