Description

Front boundary; Large London Plane (Platanus hispanica) which overhangs part of the public highway (Plough Lane); We are applying for permission to raise the tree's crown in order to increase the clearance between the ground and the crown. We wish to establish a height of 3 metres between ground level and the crown to prevent any part of the tree from coming into contact with pedestrians and vehicles (including heavy goods vehicles) on the public highway below; to achieve this, we also wish to reduce the width of the tree so that it will overhang the boundary adjacent to the pavement by no more than 0.5 metres. We will ensure that the tree is profiled so that it retains its distinctive shape after pruning.
