Application Details
Description
1 No Fraxinus excelsior (Common or European Ash).T01 is used to note tree on all plan windows. The tree is a self set Fraxinus that is clearly a seedling from a number of mature trees lining the drive. The tree sits within a culvert that is dry currently but runs freely autumn, winter and spring. The tree has no aesthetic value as that is provided by a mature avenue of Fraxinus and Aesculus, and further back the corner of a mixed woodland. There is no TPO on this tree but having checked on the Melton.gov website it sits within the Conservation Order.Due to the immediate vicinity of the tree to the road bridge across the culvert that affords access to the property, the roots are starting to disturb the bank and cracks have recently formed. These have increased significantly this summer. The owners have commissioned a structural engineer to act quickly to engineer a solution to repair the damaged works, but have asked that the tree is removed as soon as possible to facilitate this. This work needs to be carried out from September before precipitation starts in earnest. Thus the request for a 5 day notice as if left the bridge will be of further danger. As the tree is within the conservation area I have applied for the removal as per the attached location and details plan.
