Description

Listed building consent for essential modifications to the roof structure of the building with Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) panels. The project aims to enhance structural stability, improve energy efficiency, and ensure safety while preserving the buildings heritage.The works begin with scaffolding and temporary access installation for safe roof entry. Roof tiles will be carefully removed and stored, while services and cables connected to RAAC panels are disconnected. The roof tiling system will be restored by installing battens and counter battens similar to the original structure, reusing concrete tiles where possible. Existing timber bearers and inverted T-purlins will be retained to minimise unnecessary replacements.This work ensures the roofs structural safety, thermal efficiency, and long-term sustainability while maintaining the buildings historic integrity.
