Description

This provision is for a dedicated access route linking the first floor of River House to the secure, ground level, external garden space. The first floor ward houses patients who are being treated for a wide variety of mental health issues. These patients currently get access to the garden space via an existing fire escape staircase that is shared with other patients, from other wards. Unfortunately this mixing has led to problems occurring between patients. To mitigate the cross-over of patients the Trust wishes to provide a separate & secure means of access to the garden space by means of a staircase dedicated to the mental health patients as per our design proposal for the scheme.
