Reason: the multi-stemmed tree is pushing against and causing the rear garden side boundary wall between no.8 and no.10 to move off-vertical and crack.Informative A: removing only the stem(s) closest to the wall is encouraged with any roots accommodated by a bridging lintel in the wall to retain stems for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce high temperatures in increasingly hot summers due to climate change. Informative B: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: please plant new tree(s), species such as crab apple, whitebeam, pear, Persian Ironwood (Parrotia persica), bird cherry, paperbark maple, hazel, hawthorn, holly, strawberry tree, mulberry, medlar, Albizzia julibrissin, Judas Tree (Cercis siliquastrum) to maintain the treed landscape character of Brockley conservation area, for rear amenity and wildlife habitat.
