FRONT (Greenspace between Orchard Dr & Orchard Rd): ONE Sycamore (T1)(ht.12m) FELL. Reason: dying.FRONT (Greenspace between Orchard Dr & Orchard Rd): ONE Elm (T2)(ht.9m) FELL. Reason: dead. Duty to replace - large canopy tree species required, see informative A & D below.REAR: ONE Holly (T3)(ht.10m) FELL. Reason: dead. Duty to replaceREAR: ONE Holly (T4)(ht.6m) FELL. Reason: dying, covered in vegetation located behind shed.REAR: ONE Pine (T5)(ht.19m) LATERAL REDUCE 1 lower limb by 5m from 5m to 0m on S compass point, remove deadwood N & W compass points. (marked in photo 1098).(REAR: ONE Gleditsia (T6)(ht.10m) remove deadwood, exempt works).Replanting proposal: There is no plan to replace the trees in the rear garden as there are plenty of existing trees with large crown spread. However there will be 2 Silver Birch planted in the verge at the front where the dying Sycamore and the dead Elm are being removed - see informative below for large canopy tree species, rather than birch. Note: see Informative A below for large canopy tree species, rather than birch.Informative A: the replacement tree planting is hugely appreciated and large canopy replacements rather than birch are encouraged, and required under duty to replace for dead elm (T2) as large canopy trees are charracteristic of the landscape amenity setting to this part of the Heath. Suggest Turkey oak, sweet chestnut, sessile oak, hornbeam, small leaved lime, Indian horse chestnut for appropriate treed amenity to the setting of the heath, for wildlife benefits and to reduce high temperatures in increasingly hot summers due to climate change. Informative B: to encourage retaining safe standing dead timber of T1, T2 for wildlife and biodiversity, please also create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: the retention and maintenance of the treed and vegetated rear garden is greatly appreciated.Informative D: Duty to replace applies if a tree in a conservation area is removed because it is dead or presents an immediate risk of serious harm: Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas guidance, para 121.
