REAR: ONE Birch (T3)(ht.7.5m) FELL. Reason: clay shrinkage subsidence damage to one side of rear bay window - no birch roots below rear foundation depth 1.7m, drain defects identified, soil not desiccated, birch a low water demand species.Informative A: crown reduction of the birch (T3) is encouraged with height reduction by 2.5m to ht.5m as recommended in MWA Arboricultural report, as no evidence the birch is causal in the cracking on one side of rear bay window.Informative B: if the birch is felled a replacement tree is encouraged further from the property in the rear garden selected from the NHBC low water demand species list such as elder, fig, birch, hazel, mulberry, magnolia, Laburnum for rear amenity, wildlife and environemntal benefits. Informative C: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
