Reason: mature Ash pollard stem starting to decay, close to the back of the house and neighbour's patio area.Informative A: the maintenance of vegetated gardens including the mature pollard stem (T1) for wildlife and biodiversity is greatly appreciated. Informative B: as dead and decaying timber is important for wildlife and biodiversity, please retain a safe standing stem or high stump of (T1) and leave the felled stem lying in the garden to continue to benefit wildlife and biodiversity especially for the endangered stag beetle which has a stronghold in SE London. Informative C: please also consider planting a replacement tree for urban greening, wildlife and environmental benefits such as crab apple, wayfaring tree, Magnolia Kobus or M. Loebneri, quince (Cydonia oblonga), Amelanchier, Orange-barked Myrtle (Myrtus apiculate), Seven-son tree, (Heptacodium miconioides), pear, mulberry, medlar, whitebeam, paperbark maple.
