Application Details
Description
REAR: ONE Sycamore (T1)(ht.14m) FELL. Reason: health & safety, tree leans to east with exposed anchorage roots to west with cavity 1m+ beneath base of tree, structural integrity compromised, upper canopy to north & west declining vigour, tree condition report from Arboricultural Consultant. Proposed replacement tree, to be selected from Alnus incana 'Lacinata' (Lacinated alder), Betula nigra (River birch), Betula pendula (Silver birch), Parrotia Persica 'Vanessa' (Persian ironwood 'Vanessa'), ref para.6.3 in Marcus Foster's tree report.Informative A: the replacement tree is hugely welcome for rear outlook amenity and treed setting to the school grounds, suggest birch is not selected due to highly allergic birch pollen close to the school. Informative B: encourage retaining the sycamore stump in situ or extracting the stump and root flare to create stumpery and log pile with other arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
