As rowans often have a poor success rate in London other Sorbus species suggestions are Whitebeam (Sorbus aria), wild service tree (Sorbus torminalis), Whitty pear (Sorbus domestica); or other suitable trees such as crab apple, Cornus Kousa, quince (Cydonia oblonga), wild cherry, Medlar, Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica).
