Reason: Tree has been in decline for many years; a large limb snapped over the neighbour's garden, tree is showing signs of decay in the stem, a crown reduction not advisable given the hazard the tree presents; a native tree will be planted as a replacement.Informative A: the proposed replacement native tree is greatly appreciated to maintain urban forest canopy, suggested species such as field maple, whitebeam, wild cherry, goat willow, hawthorn, crab apple, wild service tree; Informative B: leaving a safe standing stem is encouraged with creation of habitat log piles and dead hedge from arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
