FRONT: ONE Yew (T1)(ht:15m) FELL. Reason: bark loss on stem, exposed heartwood near the base that was hidden by the extensive ivy-clad crown, 1x replacement tree to be planted in the front garden, possibly the same species. (previous consent to crown reduce yew T1 ref.DC/23/132877).Informative A: the replacement tree is greatly appreciated for streetscape amenity and urban greening benefits. Species suggestions: crab apple, winter flowering cherry, Quince (Cydonia oblonga), Amelanchier, Magnolia stellata, Cornus Kousa, Laburnum, hazel. Informative B: please convey to resident new trees require 5 years of watering maintenance to establish, especially with hotter drier summers due to climate change. Suggested watering regime: fortnightly beg April-end Sept 2x (8 litre/2 gallon) watering cans slow drench, more frequently in prolonged drought years.
