REAR/SIDE (to Arbuthnnot Rd): ONE Pear (T1)(ht. 9m) FELL. Reason: the tree has a large cavity in the main fork about 2m above ground level. The wound has not occluded and has less than 30% holding wood. Although pear wood has high tensile strength the tree overhangs a busy pavement and road and the failure could have a high impact. The tree will be replaced with a pollinator friendly native species.Informative A: the proposed replacement tree with a pollinator friendly tree is greatly appreciated for public realm amenity, wildlife and urban forest environmental benefits species such as crab apple, Laburnum, Orange-barked Myrtle (Myrtus apiculate), Strawberry tree, Mulberry, Wild Service tree. Informative B: Please retain safe standing stump/bole and create habitat log piles on site from arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
