FRONT ONE Ash tree(T1)(ht. 10m) FELL to top of wall, leaving cavity at base for habitat. Reason: This tree has a large cavity at the base with bracket fungus evident. ONE Oak tree(T2)(ht. 16m) CROWN REDUCE, leaving monolith style stem for habitat. Reason: Oak at the front boundary has a large amount of bracket fungus at the base of the tree and also a large amount decay in the main stem from a lightning strike. ONE Lime tree(T3)(ht. 20) CROWN REDUCE HEIGHT by 5m from 20m to 15m, REDUCE RADIUS by 5m from 8m to 3m on all compass points. Reason: Lime on front boundary leans heavily over the public highway crown and is showing signs of dieback. ONE Ash tree(T4)(ht. 14m) FELL to ground. Reason: Ash RHS front boundary has a large cavity at base, more than 70% of the diameter. ONE Hawthorn tree(T5)(ht.6m) FELL to ground. Reason: Hawthorn front boundary 90% dead and leaning over public footpath. TWO Sycamores(T7, T8)(ht. 13m) CROWN REDUCE HEIGHT by 3m from 13m to 10m, REDUCE RADIUS by 3m from 6m to 3m on all compass points. Reason: Maintenance, Sycamores located RHS of driveway. It would be greatly appreciated if you could please plant 2 large canopy replacement trees such as: small leaved lime, oak, sycamore, Robinia, Norway maple, wild cherry, beech, field maple, whitebeam, wild service tree (Sorbus torminalis), hornbeam, Indian horse chestnut, Tulip tree, wingnut, Pride of India/Golden Rain tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum), Italian alder, Hackberry (Celtis australis), Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus dioica), Liquidambar to maintain the urban forest canopy and mitigate climate emergency. Informative B: The saving of the base of the T1 Ash and stem of the T2 Oak for biodiversity and habitat is much appreciated.Informative C: Where possible and safe, the retention of safe standing dead timber, creation of log and wood piles and linear 'dead hedges' with cut branches laid horizontally between stakes on site is welcomed/strongly encouraged for wildlife habitat and mitigate the biodiversity crisis.
