REAR (no.92, 94 & 96): ROOT BARRIER GROUND EXCAVATION for trench approx.3m from rear of properties nos 92,94,96, to depth 3.5m, width 0.3m, approx.length 13m involving cutting any roots in the trench. Reason: to prevent root growth towards the properties from railside woodland trees (W1 in TPO), due to subsidence to property.The London Borough of Lewisham Land at the rear of 66-114 Buckthorne Road and adjacent to 8 Courtrai Road, London, SE4 Tree Preservation Order, 1997.Informative A: the sensitive management of property structural issues to retain trees by use of a compact, flexible, copper impregnated root barrier is hugely appreciated. The 2 trees sycamore (T5) and Oak (T6) are in the TPO woodland (W1) which is a Metropolitan Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (MSINC) and ancient woodland. The retention of trees will benefit rear amenity, urban forest canopy/urban greening, wellbeing, wildlife, and environmental benefits to mitigate the climate and biodiversity emergencies.Informative B: the root barrier is to be carried out in accordance with the Tree Protection Plan (TPP) dwg no. 03993P_TPP_02 Rev A and Statement of Work for installation of a compact root barrier dated 13 April 2023. Any roots found during excavation of the root barrier trench to be pruned making a clean cut with a suitable sharp tool (eg bypass secateurs or hand saw), ref.para 7.2.2. BS 5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction.
