REAR SIDE (to Ashby Rd): ONE Hybrid Black Poplar (T1 in TPO)(ht.16m) RE-POLLARD by 7m from 16m to 9m, to pollard points as shown in marked photograph of T1. Reason: a recent tree hazard report involving aerial, and internal Tomograph & Resistograph investigations found residual wood at a previous large branch failure wound at 8m (c.2013) is structurally weak and not sufficient to retain the weight of the remaining co-dominant stem, pollard reduction of the remaining 5 main stems is required to balance the crown, reduce the sail effect from prevailing winds, and avoid repeat branch failure hazard to garden users, to 24 Ashby Road and Breakspears Mews to the rear and to Ashby Road and footpath.The London Borough of Lewisham (18 Breakspears Road SE4) Tree Preservation Order, 1977.Informative A: the sensitive management of the veteran tree is greatly appreciated for landscape amenity, wellbeing, wildlife, environmental benefits and urban forest canopy to mitigate the effects of climate change.Informative B: please create habitat log piles, and a linear 'dead hedge' with arisings on site for wildlife and biodiversity.
