REAR: ONE Silver Birch (T6)(ht:c.10m) FELL to safe standing stem and replace with a birch. Reason: poor physiological condition, decay on stem, crown dieback, deadwood. Replacement tree to maintain the treed boundary amenity seen from Tristan Square.REAR: ONE Cotoneaster (T9)(ht.5-10m) LATERAL/CROWN REDUCE by 1m. Reason: to clear structure/wires/buildings, close to building.REAR: ONE Cherry (T13)(ht.5-10m) FELL to safe standing stem and replace by retaining hawthorn growing at base or plant new hawthorn tree. Reason: poor physiological and structural condition, ivy covered, bark wounding, close to building, major dead wood. Replacement tree to maintain the treed amenity of the hospital site.FRONT: ONE Horse Chestnut (T18)(ht.16-20m) FELL to safe standing stem and replace with 2 copper beech on Lee Terrace frontage. Reason: Poor physiological and structural condition, crown dieback. Replacement with 2 copper beech along the frontage with Lee Terrace as agreed in tree notice DC/22/127533 to maintain streetscape amenity, setting of the hospital buildings and the treed landscape character of this part of the Blackheath conservation area. Informative A: the two replacement copper beech trees for horse chestnut (T18) along the site frontage with Lee Terrace, as previously agreed ref DC/22/127533 and replacement trees for birch (T6) and cherry (T13) agreed in agents email 13/03/2023 are greatly appreciated for streetscape amenity, the treed character of the site and this part of the Blackheath conservation area. Informative B: the retention of safe standing timber from T18,T6,T13, and creation of habitat log piles on site is hugely welcomed for wildlife habitat and biodiversity.
