Description

The oak tree is situated at the front of the property, on the right hand side (when looking at the property from the street). The proposed work follows consultations with two arborists in mid-October and early November 2025 (both having visited Hollies Way). A further discussion was held with LCC's Tree Officer to determine the likely work permissible to be carried out on the tree. Based on these discussions the following work is proposed. T1 Oak - crown reduction of 3-4 metres on the west side of the canopy to elongated branches over the roadway. Overall growth reduction of 1.5m - 2m to provide a flowing natural canopy. Removal of epicormic growth to crown break. Photograph 1 outlines the extent of the work which was provided by LCC's Tree Officer in December 2025. The reason for the application follows our perception that the tree required some re-shaping and reduction, which then led to us consulting with two arborists who indicated that the tree whilst in good health would benefit from a modest reduction in the canopy.
