Description

T17 Common Beech tree, T17, mature 25m tall has been recommended for removal for arboricultural reasons, as detailed in Appendix 1 on the JCA report and recommends removing T17 as a matter of high priority. Reduction to ground level preferred.Reason for removal: "Areas of loose bark were noted to the east side. Rhizomorphs, likley Armillaria species, were noted around the basal area to the east side, and in the same area what looked like a canker infection, loose and decorticated bark, possibly Nectria species".Planting of replacement trees: Propose to plant 1 No Betula pubescens (Downy Birch), 1 No Acer campestre (Field Maple), and 1 Acer Davidii Viper Snake Bark, each to be between 2.5m and 4.0m tall and planted in the vicinity of the former tree T17.
