Description

T1 Copper Beech - Removal to ground level and the stump ground out for replanting of a half standard tree in its place. The tree has 2 large cavities located on the main stem. The largest accommodates a squirrel drey and it is located directly below the main crown of the tree. The other cavity is around 6 meters from ground level and is around 70cm deep. The weight of the upper crown is bias towards the dwellings and the upper limbs are showing stress fractures. There are safety concerns due to the nature of the crown and it location close to the dwellings. Replant with a Hornbeam close to where the tree has been removed.T2 Ash - Removal to ground level and the stump ground out. This tree has numerous dead branches throughout the crown and large cavities created by failing limbs ripping themselves from the tree. The tree is in an communal garden area which is used by the residents of the appartments. There are safety concerns that the tree will fail and damage the building. It is in decline and also has signs of Ash Die Back (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus). Replae with a Field Maple half standard, close to where the tree has been removed.
