Tree 1. Silver Birch, located within the south west garden boundary. Identified on map, on supporting document by a red circle. This mature Silver Birch has out-grown its respective location with branches over-hanging boundary wall and nearby access road to village car-park. Further, one of the primary branches is showing deterioration in outer bark/inner bark exposing the cambium layer. Overall tree looks healthy with good leaf cover throughout crown canopy. The following, proposed works will help reduce mechanical stress on branch unions throughout crown and thus sustain longer-term tree health: Description of works Crown reduction Crown thin Details: Reduce crown height by up to 25% (or up to 4.0 metres) Reduce crown width by up to 20% (or up to 2.5 metres) Remove/thin up to 20% of internal crown branches to improve transmission of daylight and improve trees resilience in high winds
