Description

G1 Neighbour hedging and mixed vegetation: Raise lower branches to provide a minimum clearance of 3.5 metres above ground level over the site.Justification: Works proposed to provide adequate clearance above the boundary fence, prevent encroachment, and improve light penetration to the understory. Operations are consistent with good arboricultural practice and will not adversely affect the long-term health or form of the vegetation.G2 Mixed conifer hedge (neighbouring side): Cut back to the boundary line only.Justification: The hedge contains several brown and dead stems resulting from shading and competition. Works are proposed to manage encroachment, remove dead material, and improve boundary definition, while retaining screening value. The extent of pruning will be limited to the boundary to avoid unnecessary damage to live growth.T3 Sweet Chestnut: Fell to ground level and remove all arisings from site.Justification: The tree is of poor form, leaning, and has been suppressed by two larger adjacent Oaks. The main stem exhibits decay and structural weakness, making long-term retention unsuitable. Removal is justified on arboricultural and safety grounds, and the loss is considered low impact due to its subordinate position within the group.T4 Holly (Ilex aquifolium): Fell to ground level.Justification: Multi-stemmed poor form specimen located on the boundary, providing little amenity or screening value. Removal is proposed to prevent ongoing competition with adjacent trees and to improve structure and management of the boundary line.
